AUSTRALIA May 2, 2012 – Huawei Mobile has won a prestigious Webby award for its Australian website, www.huaweimobile.com.au. The winners of the 16th Annual Webby Awards were announced overnight in New York, with Huawei Mobile’s Australian-made site taking out the Telecommunications category.
The website was produced by creative agency Arnold Furnace Sydney, who helped launch the Huawei Mobile brand in Australia and also worked with Huawei on the successful 'Found Phones' campaign. The Huawei Mobile website allows users to interact with Huawei’s range of devices by signing in with their Facebook account, giving users the ability to post Facebook updates from a Huawei Mobile – online.
“It’s a real honour for Huawei Mobile’s Australian-made website to win this Webby Award, and our congratulations go to agency Arnold Furnace Sydney,” said Huawei Mobile Head of Marketing Mark Treadwell. “Since Huawei Mobile launched the Australian website in 2011, we’ve had great feedback from users on the cutting-edge site design and integration of social media features. It was essential that we built a website that was different and shifted away from expectations, which replicates what Huawei lives and breathes as a brand.”
"It's a wonderful achievement – something I think any agency would be proud of and a real testament to our focus on developing our digital capabilities,” said Tony Singleton, Managing Director, Arnold Furnace. “It truly was the result of a real passion and tenacity from the whole team to deliver something stand-out and a great supportive client who backed our efforts all the way.”
The Webby Awards are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an Executive 1,000-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities. For more information, visit http://www.webbyawards.com/
