TELECOM INTRODUCES NEW ZEALAND’S BEST TRANS-TASMAN ROAMING TEXT RATE

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

XT customers roaming in Australia are set to enjoy a significant decrease
in roaming text rates until 31 July 2011.

From today, Telecom prepaid and postpaid customers will pay just $10 for
100 texts while roaming in Australia.

Telecom Retail’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kieren Cooney, says the reduced
text roaming rates will give XT customers the best value in the market and
more price certainty when roaming across the ditch in the next two months.

“Roaming on our XT network already provides our customers with a seamless
experience between Australia and New Zealand. Our new roaming rates will
add to this by giving customers the certainty and flexibility around what
they will pay while they are in Australia,” Mr Cooney says.

Telecom is also permanently reducing data roaming rates in Australia for
prepaid and postpaid XT customers.

“The cut in data roaming rates furthers our commitment to XT customers
through a fear-free data experience,” says Mr Cooney.

"We've slashed our standard postpaid data rate while roaming in Australia
by almost 70% - going from $8 to only $2.50 per MB. And if you want more
certainty around what you're going to pay and great value, you can get
100MB for only $100 – basically, $1 a MB.

If you're a prepaid customer, there's also great value - we've halved our
prepaid data roaming rate to only $4 per MB, and what’s more, you can buy
a 10MB bundle of data for just $10."
