According to Georgia Wilkinson, Account executive ,Google Instant is a new search interface and infrastructure enhancement that is fast and predictive. It makes search easier by showing you relevant results instantly on the results page as you type.
“We will begin rolling out Instant to everyone in the US in the coming days. People outside the US will be able to use Instant Search through Google.com. We hope to roll out Google Instant in Australia and New Zealand (google.com.au and google.co.nz) in the coming weeks.”, she said.
On September 8, 2010, Marissa Mayer and Ben Gomes hosted a search event at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to announce Google Instant.
