Huawei, a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today showcased its range of innovative consumer devices for the first time in Australia.

Guests were invited to experience Huawei’s range of smart mobile broadband, handset and home devices that aim to simplify our world and manage the information overload and constant interruptions faced by consumers on a daily basis.

“This was the first time ever Huawei has shown its newest devices in Australia. Almost 30 devices were on-hand for media and our local partners to see, touch and experience,” said Mr Victor Xu, Global Director of Strategy and Marketing, Huawei Device, who had travelled from the company’s worldwide headquarters in Shenzhen, China, to attend the showcase and speak with media.

“Huawei is committed to bringing quality, innovative products that are smart, simple to use and affordable to the Australian market. This is our ‘Smart Device, Simple World’ philosophy,” Mr Xu said.

Hosted by Mr Xu, Mr Guo Fulin, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei in Australia, and Mr Alex Huang, Head of Terminals, Huawei Australia, the showcase confirmed Huawei’s commitment to the local telecommunications market, whilst giving a message of thanks to Huawei’s customers for their ongoing support and exclusive insight into the future direction of the brand.

“Huawei already works with Australia’s leading operators to provide consumers with smart, affordable devices and improved network capabilities,” said Guo Fulin. “Together, we are dedicated to increasing awareness of the Huawei brand in Australia, and reinforcing Huawei’s commitment to supplying quality products that are easy to use.”
Almost 30 products were on display, including the much anticipated multifunctional e-tablet, a revolutionary pocket Wi-Fi and a range of Android™-powered smartphones.

Huawei’s S7 e-tablet runs on the Android™ Operating System and is ideal for use in both the home and on the go. Always online and easy to use, the S7 features high-speed web browsing and access to tens of thousands of applications, via the Android Market, plus HD video, 3G voice and video calls and a HiFi Audio player. Light and portable, the S7 is a truly affordable multi-media tablet solution.

Huawei’s U8220 Android™ mobile phone provides an excellent internet browsing experience for users, as well as a 3.5-inch HVGA 262k colour touch screen, Google™ services, and a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with auto focus.

Offering anywhere, anytime internet for up to five devices at once, the Huawei E5 II Pocket Wi-Fi is revolutionizing the mobile broadband space. Boasting 5.76Mbps HSUPA to 7.2Mbps HSDPA peak download speeds and an effortless user interface; the E5 II Pocket Wi-Fi supports Windows 7, Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Mac and Linux Operating Systems.

“We are already living in a mobile broadband world, yet there remains a distinct divide between those still tethered to their PC, and those with the ability to connect anywhere, anytime,” added Xu. “At Huawei, we believe we have the keys to unlock the doors to this world, by improving network capabilities, and providing consumers with cost-effective, innovative devices that improve the user experience.”
