LG Electronics, a global leader in design and technology, today announced the launch of the world’s first 3G touch watch phone in Australia, just in time for Christmas.

A limited number of the LG Watch Phone (GD910) will be available this week from the Optus ‘yes’ shop in Sydney and the T-Life stores in Sydney and Melbourne.

The world’s first market-ready LG Watch Phone GD910 is a stylish, wearable watch phone that features a full touchscreen interface, 3G capabilities and video calling. It is the first touch watch phone in the world to feature 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA compatibility*, enabling high-speed data transmission and video calls using the built-in camera.

“The LG Watch Phone is everybody’s ultimate Christmas gift, bringing our childhood dreams of being an undercover agent to life,” said Nathan Dunn, General Manager, Mobile Communications, LG Electronics Australia. “LG is committed to developing new, innovative products that push boundaries and set new trends in telecommunications. We are very excited to be releasing the Watch Phone in Australia through our carrier partners.”

The LG Watch Phone combines high-quality style with great features, including a 3.63cm (1.43-inch) touchscreen, intuitive Flash Interface, Bluetooth, Text to Speech (TTS) and a built-in speaker for playing back music.
